The Whatcom Think Local First Gift Card is a community-based digital gift card that makes it fun and easy to spend locally! Use it at pizza restaurants in Bellingham and Whatcom County including North Fork Brewery, Pizza'zza, and Storia Cucina!

Fiamma Pizza

One thing you can always agree on for dinner is pizza – meat lovers, vegetarian, omnivore. But being vegan or having other reasons not to eat cheese makes pizza a little less adaptable. Luckily, Fiamma Pizza offers a plant-based cheese substitute as well as a gluten-free crust option. Just want a slice? Try La Fiamma's walk-up window, Pye Hole

Mod Pizza

Another great destination for dairy-free pizza in Bellingham is Mod Pizza. Mod’s build-your-own model is ultimately customizable. They also offer plant-based Italian sausage, gluten-friendly crust, and cauliflower crust.

McKay's Taphouse and Pizzeria

You know the feeling you get after a long workday, when you come home, put on some flannels, and pour yourself a beer? It’s called “completely relaxed,” which is how you’ll feel when you walk through the door at McKay’s Taphouse and Pizzeria. Pair it with a local Bellingham brew for a perfect pizza experience.

Storia Cucina

If you're looking for authentic Italian pizza made with fresh local ingredients, make a beeline for Storia Cucina in downtown Bellingham. Storia sources their flour from Cairn Springs Flour in Skagit Valley and uses it as the base for their scratch-made pizzas and pastas. Their mozzarella comes from Ferndale Farms, fresh greens from Mama Bird Farms on San Juan Island, and seafood from Taylor Bay Shellfish.

Owner Jonathan Sutton is especially proud of his sourdough, which dates back to 1971 in San Francisco and has been kept alive ever since. The yeast-free dough, made a day ahead so it can rise slowly, makes a fantastic thin-crust pizza.

If there's a wait to get a seat (which can happen, this place is popular!), head to neighboring Bar Cicotti for a glass of wine or cocktail while you wait.

North Fork Brewery

For anyone interested in a scenic drive and views with their meal, head up the Mount Baker Scenic Highway to North Fork Brewery.

Their hand-tossed crusts are made daily with specialty flour, olive oil, and beer...and gluten-free crusts are available, too! The house marinara is prepared fresh and there's an option for vegan cheese.

Övn Wood Fired Pizza

Matt Brawner’s wood-fired oven from Naples, Italy had to be forklifted into the Neapolitan-inspired pizzeria in Bellingham’s Fairhaven district. The restaurant opened in August 2015 and Brawner and his pizza team have elevated pizza-making into an art form. “I’m a serious pizza maker,” Brawner said. “We’re also the only ones doing this particular kind of pizza.”

What is Neapolitan-style pizza, you ask? It’s simple pizza full of flavor, innovative toppings and hearty ingredients. Mozzarella curd is brought in from Wisconsin and flour is shipped all the way from Naples. And the tomato sauce? “We use whole crushed tomatoes instead of sauce – but most of our pizzas have a non-tomato base.”

In the kitchen, Brawner is all about attention-to-detail. “Everything we’re dealing with is living, organic processes. For example, we keep a yeast culture alive for our natural unleavened dough, and we’re making it nine to ten hours a day. We get the potential for really good texture and flavor from this dough.”

Elizabeth Station

In addition to more than 1,000 carefully selected bottles of beer, cider, and more, this bottle shop in Bellingham's Lettered Streets neighborhood offers a menu of delicious 11-inch Neapolitan-style pizzas with high-quality toppings. It's some of the best pizza in Bellingham.

Zeeks Pizza

Bellinghamsters were thrilled when Zeeks opened a locally owned franchise in Bellingham's Fountain District. The menu boasts a variety of Pacific Northwest pizzas (known for fresh ingredients and a slightly chewy crust) and one of the largest tap lists in town. The roomy building makes it a great place for parties, sports-watching, and family outings.

Coconut Kenny's

Piping hot pan pizzas, humungous Hawaiian bread sandwiches, and cheese balls (also made with sweet Hawaiian bread), can all be yours at Coconut Kenny's. This tropical-themed pizza spot in Bellingham delivers creative, Hawaiian-inspired pizzas and a nice selection of salads for those wanting lighter fare. They also offer a gluten-free crust.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
