Get Ready for a Boot-Stompin’ Good Time! County Rose Partners with Blue Skies for Children to Raise Money for Youth

Blue Skies for Children is thrilled to announce its second annual Shine Bright Showcase and Auction, an evening of music, community, and generosity, set to take place on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Hotel Leo, 1224 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham.

The event will feature a special performance by County Rose, a local country band that is ready to bring their signature sound to support a great cause. “County Rose is pleased as punch to play in support of Blue Skies for Children’s Shine Bright Showcase and Auction. As parents, educators, and musicians in this community, we believe in the power of music to raise hope and joy for all listeners and performers. There is no better investment to make than in the youth of our community,” the band shared in anticipation of the event.

Opening for County Rose is Purple Thunder, an incredible student band made up of music students from BellingHome School of Music, one of Blue Skies for Children’s valued partners. These young musicians will set the stage for an evening of celebration and giving back.

Blue Skies for Children is also pleased to be honoring Sunrise Rotary of Bellingham with their annual Hyatt Honors, given to community partners who shine at helping the organization meet its mission. In 2024, Sunrise Rotary’s generous donation of over $60,000, raised during their annual Oysterfest, provided critical funding during a challenging year for Blue Skies for Children that included an unexpected office relocation.

Guests can look forward to live music, a silent auction, food, and drinks, all while supporting the mission of Blue Skies for Children to provide enrichment opportunities for local youth facing economic hardship.

The Shine Bright Showcase and Auction is made possible thanks to the support of their generous sponsors, including Hempler’s, Avenue Bread, The Henifin Family of Companies, The Hotel Leo, Bellingham Chamber Music Society, and many other community partners.

Join them for an unforgettable night filled with music, community spirit, and an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children in need. Tickets for the Shine Bright Showcase and Action are available for $75 per person and can be purchased at www.blueskiesforchildren.org.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
