FILM IS TRUTH, Beloved Bellingham Video Store, is Back!

After Film Is Truth closed its doors in 2022, they donated their collection of over 22,000 titles to Pickford Film Center. We are so excited to bring this collection back to the Bellingham film-loving community, but you should know that things will be a little different than you may be used to. Because we don’t have the physical space to showcase the collection like a typical movie rental store, we will be processing rentals differently too.

One of the biggest challenges that we faced when figuring out how to have a video store without a physical space was how to present the collection to the public. The complete library lives HERE in a searchable alphabetic list. There is also a full printed copy in the lobby to leaf through.

We are also working on a digital library which is still under construction and exists on the website as a work in progress.  It is searchable via title, genre and actor.

We are proud to bring the Film Is Truth collection back to our community!

Please don't hesitate to reach out via email with any questions or issues.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
