Enter the Magical Musical World of Downtown: Bellingham Exit Returns October 10-13, 2024

(An extraordinary blend of art, comedy, and music)

The enchanting city of Bellingham is set to transform this fall, October 10-13, 2024, into an artistically themed realm of Magical Worlds. After last year’s inaugural event drawing over 7,400 attendees, the anticipated second annual Bellingham Exit festival returns to build on the momentum and event direction. The first phase of performing artists has been released by organizers today, July 25th, with the second phase of their lineup announcement to follow in early August.

Headliners for this year’s fantastical festival include comic, beatboxer, and rapper Reggie Watts, horror-themed drag artists Boulet Brothers, folk-pop trio Joseph, and rising comedy star Laura Ramoso - all performing at the historic Mount Baker Theatre.

"As we grow, we're fostering a DIY, fringe-festival atmosphere," said Hunter Motto, founder of Bellingham Exit. "We're excited to collaborate with more venues and event organizers for a citywide shakedown to the tune of meaningful arts & culture experiences."

Featured Shows Across Core Venues

Audiences and artists will encounter curiosities in all directions, with core venues - The Shakedown, The Blue Room, and Wild Buffalo, being reimagined into portals towards magical realms. These portals take the shape of temporary art installations, which are brought to life in partnership with Mark Kuntz at Bellingham TheatreWorks.

Featured performances include indie folk supergroup Bonny Light Horseman, Australian indie-psych rockers Babe Rainbow, and shimmer pop sensation Atlas Genius. Additional acts include Robert DeLong, Mr. Carmack, Justin Martin, Blu & Exile, Balkan Bump, HAYD, TWO ANOTHER, Becca Mancari, Cecille Believe, and Charlotte + many more to be announced.

Bellingham Exit organizers continue to prioritize collaborative programming, while inviting downtown businesses into community promotion efforts. Venues, sponsors, or local businesses interested in sponsoring or planning their own shows, reach out to the team here

"Last year, we promoted more than 150 artists across 15 venues," said Forrest Templin, community marketer. “This year, we’re excited to share marketing support for satellite events, while also weaving the Magical World theme throughout the entire festival experience.”

Ticket options range from single-show tickets ranging between $20-$60, or value-packed festival wristbands starting at $119.99, which grants access to every show throughout the four day series. Newly added, Late-night EDM Pass $59.99. Click to see all: 1) Single-Show Tickets, 2) Weekend Wristbands

About Bellingham Exit:

Bellingham Exit is a multi-day, multi-stage, multi-sensory music and arts festival held annually in downtown Bellingham, Washington. Founded in 2023, the festival aims to create a unique platform for artistic expression, community engagement, and cultural enrichment. Supported by the City of Bellingham and Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism. For more information, visit www.bellinghamexit.com or follow on socials @bellinghamexit.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
