Embrace Whidbey and Camano Islands is delighted to announce new members to its creative team, marking a significant milestone in the organization's commitment to fostering a regenerative tourism industry that supports the local community and provides deep experiences for visitors.
Inge Morascini will lead marketing efforts in the position of Public Relations and Marketing Director, overseeing implementation of the county’s new approach to regenerative tourism. She will act as spokesperson for the destination marketing organization, representing tourism in Island County at the county, state, and national level.
As the new Embrace Whidbey and Camano Islands Regenerative Program Support, Krista Loercher will engage the community, businesses, non-profits and government in the principles of regenerative tourism. Building on the Regenerative Places program conceptualized in partnership with the Transformational Travel Council, this approach to tourism supports and builds healthy relationships with local communities. It promotes care and involvement of our islands’ environment and culture from our visitors.
“We are pleased to add Inge Morascini and Krista Loercher to the Embrace Whidbey and Camano Islands team,” notes Embrace Whidbey and Camano Islands Board President Jackie Henderson. “We are confident and excited about the new direction for the coming year.”
Inge comes from both corporate and agency marketing backgrounds, having held executive level vice president positions in both marketing and creative direction, and most recently served as executive director at the Langley Chamber of Commerce. Since coming to Whidbey Island in 2013 following a career spent in metropolitan cities coast to coast, she has found her forever home and has embraced the people and lifestyle of Whidbey Island. Passionate about art, writing, and the environment, she looks forward to enticing visitors to fall in love with the islands that she now proudly calls home.
Inge has been on the board of Island County Tourism since 2016, and who has an extensive background in marketing, will take the position previously held by Sherrye Wyatt. Krista, who owns Whidbey Island Kayaking, will support the new Regenerative Tourism effort in her new role as Embrace Program Manager.
Krista, as the owner and operator of Whidbey Island Kayaking, has been supporting people as they nurture their nature by offering safe, fun, and active ways to experience the Salish Sea for almost ten years. Krista believes that park and recreation facilities and programs enable individuals, families, and communities to thrive and was recently re-elected to her second term as a South Whidbey Park and Recreation District Commissioner. When she isn’t working in, advocating for, or actively recreating in the outdoors, she is probably enjoying the simple pleasures of throwing a ball for her dog or doing a crossword puzzle.
These two individuals join the creative team, including: Laura Hilton as film liaison; Jack and Diane Penland with Computerpix digital marketing, Osborne Northwest Public Relations in media and influencer relations; and Rosencranz Productions in graphic design. Embrace Whidbey and Camano Islands welcomes Inge Morascini and Krista Loercher to its growing team and looks forward to the positive impact their contributions will bring to the community and beyond.
