COVID-19 Testing Site at NW WA Fairgrounds Closed on Saturdays

Effective immediately, the COVID-19 testing site run by the Whatcom County Health Department (WCHD) and Whatcom Unified Command (WUC) at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden, Washington, will no longer operate on Saturdays.

“Since the COVID-19 testing site in Bellingham opened, usage of the testing site in Lynden has dropped,” said Cindy Hollinsworth, communicable disease manager for WCHD. “By reducing staffing needs at the Lynden testing site, we can reassign staff to bolster other parts of our COVID-19 response, including vaccination efforts.”

The Lynden testing site will continue to provide COVID-19 tests on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Testing services are also offered at the Bellingham International Airport every day of the week.

For WCHD/WUC testing locations and hours of operation, and contact information for other COVID-19 testing providers in Whatcom County, visit whatcomcounty.us/covidtesting.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
