CASCADIA Now Accepting Submissions For Women’s Visual Art Exhibition

Applications opened Monday, January 15, and will close Friday, February 16, at 4 p.m.

CASCADIA is expanding its programming this year to include women in the visual arts in an exhibition entitled: Women Rising: Expanding Visions/Diverse Perspectives. The exhibit, in collaboration with Allied Arts, will highlight the multiplicity of women’s voices, styles, and interpretive approaches of artists living in the Pacific Northwest. We invite women artists to submit artworks addressing a broad range of themes, issues, and ideas.

Barbara Matilsky, curator/art historian, will select artworks for the exhibition.

Selected art will be on exhibit in the Dakota Art Store gallery from April 5 until May 31, to coincide with the in-person film festival April 25-28. Deadline for submissions is February 16th. 

Artists can submit up to 6 pieces for consideration. Submissions in all media will be considered with work that goes on the wall, no more than 36” wide, and work on pedestal up to 24” wide.  Artwork will be accepted in three categories: 3-Dimensional, 2-Dimensional, and Photography.  There is no fee to apply. Artwork both for sale and in reserve are eligible.

Applications are open and close Friday, February 16, 2024 at 4 p.m. Selected artists will be notified by February 23, 2024.
