CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival has a new president and vice president of the organization’s board of directors. Long-term board members Audrey Sager & Lucas Senger were elected as President and Vice President, respectively.
“We're thrilled to have Audrey and Lucas leading CASCADIA's board.” said Chery Crooks, Executive Director for CASCADIA. “We are also looking forward to their guidance as the festival moves into a new phase as a maturing destination film festival to bring filmmakers and audiences from well beyond Bellingham's borders.”
Before retiring, Audrey Sager was a founding partner of the New York City law firm of Sager Gellerman Eisner and specialized in the field of matrimonial law. She had been named as a Super Lawyer each year from 2006 to 2017 and was recognized as a leading lawyer in New York State. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and was a vice president of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. Both she and her husband, Steven Gellerman, are movie lovers. They relocated to Bow, Washington in 2014 where they are enjoying the Pacific Northwest lifestyle.
Sager said CASCADIA provides not only a great film experience but also the opportunity to enjoy Bellingham and its surrounding beauty. It is her hope that CASCADIA becomes one of the most anticipated events of the year.
“Over the last five years CASCADIA has earned a reputation as a unique Film Festival which recognizes excellence among women filmmakers,” Sager said. “It is my goal that this reputation continues to grow so that Bellingham becomes THE destination to celebrate outstanding films made by women.”

About CASCADIA
Now entering its sixth year, CASCADIA showcases and celebrates exceptional films directed by women. It is one of only a handful of festivals in the U.S. currently dedicated to this purpose. The organization also works year-round to provide film production, exhibition, and distribution education.
Since its first festival five years ago, CASCADIA has presented films by more than 125 women directors from around the world and more than half of the films shown at their 2021 were made by women of color. Films by students, emerging directors and Indigenous women are also usually in the mix.
Our 2022 festival is scheduled May 12-15 in-person at The Pickford Film Center (1318 Bay St. Bellingham). Our online festival is May 19-30. More information is on our website at www.cascadiafilmfest.org.
