Anthony McGill and Ashley Becker, two spectacular musicians, will join the BSO on November 6th, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.
McGill appears regularly as a soloist with top orchestras around North America, including the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his dynamic international solo career, McGill is principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic—the first African-American principal player in the organization’s history. McGill will be performing Aaron Copland's "Clarinet Concerto", a role most famously filled by Benny Goodman.
American soprano Ashley Becker has been lauded by The New York Times for her “lovely, fully supported sound and thoughtful nuanced phrasing”. In June 2022, Ashley performed the title role of Turandot with Opera51 in Boston, Massachusetts.
