BAAY Presents The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical

Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth presents The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. As a son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and is on a quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods. Based on the New York Times bestselling novel, this show features a thrilling original rock score that takes audiences on an action-packed, mythical adventure!

BAAY’s production will showcase a cast of student performers ages 13-17. Directed by Erin Smith, musical direction by Dylan Cisneros, and choreographed by Tara Reiter. Performances run June 3-5 and June 10-12 at the BAAY Theatre. Tickets are more information at baay.org!

About BAAY: Founded in 2006, Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth (BAAY) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching children’s lives through the exploration of the arts. We believe that the arts are a basic and essential component of all children’s education. We serve approximately 1400 children ages 5-17 annually in our EduArts and Theatre programs, and provide over $30,000 a year in annual tuition waivers to remove financial barriers to participation. Learn how you can support the sustainability of this work at baay.org/support.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
