Open Call to Join the Sustainable Connections Board of Directors

Sustainable Connections (SC) is excited to announce an open call for individuals interested in serving on its board of directors. SC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit in NW Washington dedicated to building community, advancing a regenerative local economy, strengthening food systems, catalyzing climate solutions, and expanding housing access - with a strong commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in its leadership. 

The nonprofit organization is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals who are eager to make a meaningful difference in their community. The ideal board member will have a deep commitment to the organization’s mission and a strong drive to advocate for positive social change. Sustainable Connections encourages individuals from underrepresented communities to apply, including but not limited to those from diverse racial, ethnic, gender, age, socioeconomic, disability, and LGBTQ+ backgrounds. 

Responsibilities of board members include: 

• Providing strategic guidance and oversight to advance the organization’s mission. 

• Collaborating with fellow board members to develop and review policies and strategic plans. 

• Actively participating in board meetings, committee work, and organizational events. 

• Supporting fundraising efforts and leveraging personal networks to secure resources. 

• Advocating for the organization’s mission and engaging with the community.
