New Skye Hill Station in Blaine, WA Featuring Lighthouse Starbucks and Blaine Welcome Center Opens July 26

Starbucks is opening what may be considered one of its most elaborate locations in the country in the seaside town of Blaine, WA on Thursday morning, July 26, 2018 at 4 a.m.  Located at 530 Peace Portal Drive, the 2,650-square-foot building was inspired by the 19th century historic Blaine lighthouse that once stood at the entrance to Semiahmoo Bay. In addition to an indoor spiral staircase and magnificent outdoor fireplace and patio, the building has an impressive 48-foot-tall lighthouse tower.  Starbucks is the anchor tenant of Skye Hill Station and is adjacent to the new Blaine Welcome Center which also opened recently.  Developer Mike Hill and his wife Skye have dreamt of building a location for the popular coffee chain in Blaine for over a decade. Mike plans to be up early to receive the first coffee served at 4 a.m. at the new Starbucks new location. The Blaine Welcome Center provides visitor to information to travelers, and is conveniently located at the first U.S. exit southbound after crossing the U.S.-Canada border For more information or photos- Contact Debbie Harger at the City of Blaine, 360-543-9982.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
