Iconic Rock Band, ZZ Top, Set to Take the Stage at the 2025 Northwest Washington Fair

Legendary rock band ZZ Top will take the stage at The Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden, Washington, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 7:00 PM. They join the 2025 Bank of the Pacific Grandstand Entertainment Series. Presented by Chad Chambers Auto Sales and HomeSmart One Realty.

“That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” has been at it for well over a half-century, delivering rock, blues and boogie on the road and in the studio to millions of devoted fans. The group formed in 1969 after two rival bands, Billy Gibbons’ Moving Sidewalks and Frank Beard and Dusty Hill’s American Blues, combined into what is famously known today as ZZ Top. Their third album, 1973’s Tres Hombres, catapulted them to national attention with the hit “La Grange,” still one of the band’s signature pieces today. Eliminator, their 1983 album, was something of a paradigm shift for ZZ Top. Their roots blues skew was intact but added to the mix were tech-age trappings that soon found a visual outlet with such tracks as “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs” on the then up-and-coming MTV. It was one of the music industry’s first albums to have been certified Diamond, far beyond Gold and Platinum, and a reflection of US domestic sales exceeding 10 million units. Today, the band consists of singer/guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and bassist Elwood Francis, who stepped up in 2021 after the passing of longtime member Dusty Hill.

They have sold hundreds of millions of records over the course of their career, have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and have been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
