The kick-off Holiday Tree Lighting reception will be on Saturday, December 7 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The community is invited to come and vote for their favorite tree while enjoying festive music with holiday treats and beverages. In order to receive a voting ballot, one must donate new or gently used clothing (ages 13 & under) or make a monetary donation to Skookum Kids, a local organization that cares for foster children in Whatcom County.

Voters will receive a same day 10% off voucher to the Lighthouse Grill and are entered to win a one night stay in the Lighthouse Suite. The voting will end December 31. For more information please call Hotel Bellwether at 360-392-3100.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
