Find Spring Gardening Essentials at My Garden Nursery

My Garden Nursery, Plants, Garden Center, Bellingham, Trees Jenny and Bill Gunderson opened My Garden Nursery on Bakerview Road in Bellingham, WA on April Fools Day, 2015. Located in the former Bakerview Nursery, they've been very busy since then, revamping the space, moving things around and making it their own "fun nursery," as Jenny said. She has lots of experience in making plants fun, starting out over 35 years ago, as the "garden girl" at a drug store. She and Bill ran their nursery in Mill Creek, WA for several years before moving it to Bellingham, and her love for plants is apparent as she interacts with them and her customers.   [caption id="attachment_38278" align="aligncenter" width="450"]My Garden Nursery, Plants, Garden Center, Bellingham, Trees Bill and Jenny's alter egos.[/caption] Inside the store, you'll find environmentally friendly fertilizers and potting soils, garden equipment, a gift shop and Fairyland, with miniature gnomes, fairies and accessories (like mini furniture) to create fairy gardens. Peace lily, Boston fern, Dracaena, bromeliad, cactus, palm, philodendron, jade and plants I couldn't possibly identify fill the space. Choose one to take home, and you'll also get expert advice from Gerry on how to keep it healthy and beautiful. Seeing the lush, full ficus made me realize just how sickly mine at home was, and I vowed to return to My Garden, buy a new one and try harder to keep it alive. (On second thought, maybe I should stick with Tillandsia, the air plant that just needs misting.) [caption id="attachment_38277" align="aligncenter" width="600"]My Garden Nursery, Plants, Garden Center, Bellingham, Trees Gorgeous houseplants.[/caption] Wander through the greenhouses, and you'll find tons of gorgeous, healthy outdoor plants with flowers or without, sporting foliage of bright green, dark green, chartreuse, stripes and dots. My Garden Nursery, Plants, Garden Center, Bellingham, Trees Shrubs and trees to establish the bones of your landscape, annuals to provide pops of color and hardy perennials for year-round interest are all here, along with solid advice on how to put "the right plant in the right place," according to your yard's sun exposure and soil. Fruit trees include apple, peach, pear, cherry and plum, and other edibles, like berries and vegetable starts, onions and potatoes are easy to find. Everything is organized by color, so all the red, blue, yellow and green containers are grouped together. My Garden Nursery, Plants, Garden Center, Bellingham, Trees "We try to make it easy for people to shop," said Jenny. "Orange tables are for sun-loving plants and blue tables are for shade-lovers. New stock keeps coming in every day, so there is always a great selection of annuals, conifers, bigger trees and shrubs, and perennials to add to your garden." Jenny and Bill have brought their brand of fun to Bakerview Road, and we are happy they're here! My Garden Nursery  929 E.         We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
