Beach Vacation, Porch Kiss, Lily Potter

Beach Vacation is an indie pop band from Washington state, formed in 2012 by high school friends Tabor Rupp and Justyn Newman. Influenced by artists like Wild Nothing, Beach Fossils, and The Radio Dept., their music blends dream pop and shoegaze elements, creating an ethereal, sun-soaked sound. Their debut EP, Maritime (2013), gained international attention, leading to releases in the UK, Japan, and the US.

After a hiatus, Rupp and Newman reunited in 2018 to continue as a duo, later releasing their sophomore album, Coping Habits, mixed and mastered by Boy Pablo’s producer Erik Thorsheim. Known for their shimmering guitar riffs and atmospheric synths, Beach Vacation evokes the feel of carefree beach escapades. They have collaborated with artists like Cathedral Bells and continue to refine their signature sound. As of 2025, the band is preparing for a spring tour in May, with tickets currently available.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
