Earth Day Community Work Party at Squalicum Creek Re-route

Celebrate Earth Day alongside more than 1 billion people worldwide by joining the City of Bellingham and other community partners for our annual Earth Day Community Work Party on Saturday, April 19th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Squalicum Creek Re-route.

Together, we will remove invasive species to improve fish and wildlife habitat and help water quality near the Squalicum Creek Re-route project. This important ecological restoration project was constructed in 2021 to benefit salmon and other native species. Volunteers should be aware that the work party site includes typical park uneven terrain. Volunteers assume all liability for conducting volunteer work within the project area. Additional information will be emailed to registered participants. Register early, space is limited.

Starts: April 19, 2025

Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Admission: Free!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
