The road to Artist Point (the final section of SR 542) and Highway 20 (starting at Ross Dam Trailhead) are both closed for the season.

Henry Mancini Concert by Dry Martini

Dry Martini, a classic jazz trio consisting of J. Michael Newlight (guitar and vocals), Mike Knutson (alto saxophone) and Steve Webber-Plank (percussion), presents an evening of music by composer Henry Mancini, including classic hits such as Charade, Days of Wine & Roses, Dreamsville, Moment to Moment, Moon River, Mr. Lucky, Peter Gunn, Pink Panther, Slow Hot Wind, Two For The Road, and more!

They will focus on the early decades of Mancini’s collaboration with film and TV writer/director/producer Blake Edwards, beginning with the popular 1957 TV series Peter Gunn, and perhaps as late as the 1982 film Victor Victoria, although Mancini himself continued composing (and performing as a pianist) right up until his death in 1994. Since most of the Mancini compositions were scored for orchestra, intended as soundtracks for film and TV, their work has gone into adapting the melodic, rhythmic and harmonic essence for the jazz trio.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
