Music Monday - A benefit Concert for Cindy Minkler

Cindy Minkler (Lakota Sioux) graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.A. in Music Education (K-12) and Piano Performance. Since then, she’s been an educator, graduation speaker, freelance pianist, piano teacher, and performer. This Monday Music will be a Benefit concert for Cindy Minkler, local musicians that will be featured are Anissa Caprina, Michael Bride, Deborah Hawley, Cheryl Hodge, Kelley Porter, Diane Leigh, and Cindy Minkler.

Cindy received a donated kidney this past December and is regaining her strength and is healing well. She spent 30 days at a recovery center in Seattle after her kidney transplant. Family and friends provided meals, transportation and trips to numerous Dr. appointments. Cindy has been unable to work since December and Paul Klein suggested a benefit concert would be helpful. Hence, Cindy’s favorite musician friends stepped up to the plate for her benefit concert. Come join us for a musical giving benefit concert.

This event is not ticketed. However, cash donations of appreciation are gladly accepted.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
