Earth Week Habitat Tour of Terrell Creek with NSEA

Celebrate Earth Week by touring the beautiful and diverse Terrell Creek watershed! Terrell Creek not only supports local coho and chum salmon populations but also promotes a healthy habitat for wildlife throughout the watershed, including 170 bird species, steelhead, coastal and residential trout, and a diverse selection of Birch Bay shellfish.

Since 2002, NSEA has partnered with BP Cherry Point and various community groups, such as the Chums of Terrell Creek, to restore stream habitat by removing invasive vegetation, planting native trees and shrubs, and improving instream channel habitat.

Join NSEA’s instream project manager, Eli DeWitt, on Friday, April 25 from 12-2 PM for a guided tour of our instream channel restoration projects along Terrell Creek. We will meet at 12 PM at a parking site near Birch Bay, then hop on our tour bus. Get an up-close look at this beautiful watershed!

Learn more at www.n-sea.org/upcoming-events and RSVP today to save your seat on the bus.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
