The road to Artist Point (the final section of SR 542) and Highway 20 (starting at Ross Dam Trailhead) are both closed for the season.

Beginning Stained Glass

Have you ever wanted to learn the art of stained glass or wondered how a stained glass art is made? This class is designed to allow people to try out copper-foiled stained glass without investing in all of the equipment. Students will choose a simple design created or approved by Katie.

Finished pieces will be about 10×14”. Class instruction will include cutting and shaping the glass, foiling, soldering and finishing the piece. Students will need to purchase one pound of 60/40 solder and one roll of copper-foil tape (details will be provided in the first session). Students will need to choose their design and purchase glass for their project prior to the first session.

The recommended vendor for glass is Covenant Glass in Everett. The instructor provides all the other chemicals, supplies and tools.

Class times: Friday 5:30pm–8:30pm, Saturday 9am–5pm, Sunday 9am-5pm

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
