Bellingham Traditional Jazz Society invites you to a Saturday afternoon of LIVE jazz for listening and swing-dancing. Josh Roberts leads a swinging band playing hot jazz of the twenties and thirties.
Drawing inspiration from guitar greats Johnny St Cyr, Eddie Lang, Teddy Bunn, and Charlie Christian, the band will feature classic jazz melodies with a driving Chicago-style rhythm section, and a few vocal numbers as well. Josh on jazz guitar and banjo will have four of his old friends with him Ray Skjelbred on piano, Noah Gotfrit on stand-up bass, Mike Daugherty on drums (and washboard), and Bellingham’s Thomas Harris on saxophones and clarinet. This is music guaranteed to lift your spirits!
