The road to Artist Point (the final section of SR 542) and Highway 20 (starting at Ross Dam Trailhead) are both closed for the season.

Nature Time at the River with Northwest Natura

Need some forest and river time? Join Naturalist, Jazmen Yoder on a day out on the river and in the woods to go tracking, find mushrooms, learn names of plants and fungi, observe animals, and just get away from it all in this special offering. This course is designed for anyone looking to ignore Valentine’s Day or celebrate in a new way this year. This course will be unlike other NWN field trips as it’s more centered on wandering, socializing, observing, and provide opportunities to learn from others and share your own knowledge.

This offering is donation-based. Choose what you can afford. If you can’t afford the lowest donation right now, please email me nwnatura@gmail.com so I can accommodate you. Please register via the event website.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
