The road to Artist Point (the final section of SR 542) and Highway 20 (starting at Ross Dam Trailhead) are both closed for the season.

Know Before You Go: Expedition to Denali

At 20,310-feet tall, Alaska's Denali is the tallest mountain in North America. It is cold. It is high. And it is physically demanding... In this seminar, we will talk about the mountain from two perspectives. First, we'll talk about what an individual should do to prepare for a guided ascent of the mountain. And second, we'll talk about what a team should do to prepare for an unguided private ascent of the mountain. As it can take up to 21-days to climb this incredible mountain, it is important to understand every detail of such an adventure.

This will be a presentation that includes the opportunity for questions. Come on in and grab a drink (we have soda and beer), and talk to a professional guide about you should prepare to climb to the top of North America!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
