Rob Casey - Paddling the Salish Sea

Join Village Books and North Cascades Institute for this Nature of Writing event with Rob Casey! Rob will discuss updates for this edition and will present a few new and older trips. He will also discuss beach cleanups and a few environmental changes since the last book edition in 2012. 

He has been paddling since 2000 starting with sea kayaking, later adding whitewater and surf kayaking. He became a pioneer in establishing stand up paddling in the Northwest later authoring "Stand Up Paddling Flat Water to Surf and Rivers" and founding the Professional Stand Up Paddle Association (PSUPA). In 2010, he started his paddling school Salmon Bay Paddle. He also works as a photographer focusing on conservation and adventure. In his free time he loves to downwind and surf freighter waves with his surf ski near his home in Ballard.
