Chuckanut Radio Hour Featuring Kira Jane Buxton - Tartufo

Join Village Books for a delightful evening of music, stories, and fun as we welcome back the amazing Kira Jane Buxton! Tartufo is the hilarious tale of a crumbling Italian village where tourists only stop in to ask for directions. Little do the villagers know that the local truffle hunter has discovered a massive truffle, potentially worth six figures, with the power to either be the greatest gift or the foulest curse the village has ever seen.

Kira Jane Buxton's writing has appeared in The New York Times, NewYorker.com, McSweeney's, The Rumpus, Huffington Post, and more. Her debut novel Hollow Kingdom was an Indie Next pick, a finalist for the Thurber Prize for American Humor, the Audie Awards, and the Washington State Book Awards. She is also the author of Hollow Kingdom and Feral Creatures.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
