Traditional Haida Berry Basket Necklace Workshop with Lisa Telford

Haida basket weaving is one of the most difficult of all the indigenous styles. Lisa Telford renowned Gawa Git’ans Git’anee Haida master basket weaver, shares ancient traditional Haida basket weaving techniques in this one-day intensive class at the Jansen Art Center. Learn how to plait red cedar, yellow cedar and two-strand twine, and incorporate color into your own miniature two-strand ending berry basket necklace. Telford was born in Ketchikan, Alaska and descends from a long line of weavers that goes back to her grandmother. 

$50 material fee included in registration, non-refundable.
