Birchwood Garden Club Established 1931-Bellingham, Washington Planting Seeds of Friendship throughout our Community

November Topic: Putting a Garden to Bed

How do you put your garden to bed? Do you tuck it in warmly? Do you give it one last drink of water or maybe sing it lullaby? Diana Wisen will give us the scoop on putting a garden to bed. Diana is a 33-year WSU Extension Master Gardener. She teaches many gardening classes for the Master Garden program in Skagit County. Please join us!

The Birchwood Garden Club is accepting applications from non-profit organizations in Whatcom and Skagit counties to help support projects that are related to horticulture, agriculture or related fields. Applications for up to $500 can be found at birchwoodgardenclub.org and will be accepted until December 31 and awarded in February. Birchwood Garden Club membership is open to anyone in Whatcom or Skagit Counties. You are invited to join us at our monthly meetings where we will have membership brochures to join.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
