Douglas Cole - The Cabin at the End of the World

Join us in the Readings Gallery to welcome winner of the American Fiction Award Douglas Cole for his new poetry book, The Cabin at the End of the World.

The Cabin at the End of the World, Douglas Cole's latest poetry book with Unsolicited Press, ventures into prose poetry that is sometimes surreal, sometimes acute social commentary. In short, dreamlike and longer poems we glimpse the ragged edge of American dream and the possible future of a crumbling empire. Douglas Cole has published eight poetry collections and the novel The White Field, winner of the American Fiction Award. He has been nominated Six times for a Pushcart and Eight times for Best of the Net. His website is https://douglastcole.com.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
