A fall afternoon of hard cider and distillery tastings plus live bluegrass music will be featured during the 11th-annual Ciderfest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at Bellewood Farms & Distillery.
Ciderfest offers 10 hard (alcoholic) cider tastings from Pacific Northwest cideries, plus seven tastings from Bellewood’s own distillery, including its Applewood Smoked Bourbon. More than 10 cideries are expected to participate. The afternoon includes a hard cider homebrew competition ($20 entry fee and $200 cash prize for the winner) and music performed by Queen’s Bluegrass.
Bellewood Farms is a 62-acre orchard with 22 apple varieties located at 6140 Guide Meridian, Lynden, only 7 miles away from Bellingham, Ferndale and Lynden. Tickets for Ciderfest are available at Eventbrite.com for $35 per person and include a commemorative sipping glass. A link to the ticket site is at www.bellewoodfarms.com.
With a 350-person capacity, Ciderfest typically sells out before the day of the event.
