An Intimate Evening with Bettye LaVette

Bettye LaVette’s career began in 1962, at 16 years old, with her first single “My Man — He’s A Lovin’ Man.” Dubbed her "Fifth Career," the 2000s marked a resurgence for LaVette, earing her accolades such as the R&B Foundation’s Pioneer Award, multiple Blues Music Awards, induction into The Blues Hall of Fame, and seven Grammy nominations. Her latest album, LaVette!, featuring songs exclusively penned by Randall Bramblett, showcases her unparalleled ability to make each song her own. Now LaVette is embarking on a tour, promising audiences a blend of tracks from her recent releases along with cherished favorites from her extensive repertoire.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
