BIPOC Walks

BIPOC Walks is a program by and for people of color to build community while spending time outdoors in Bellingham. We meet in a different accessible park once a month, typically on Saturdays, to share food and get curious about local nature. This program is family-friendly and open to all ages. Come by yourself, with a friend, or bring the whole family to appreciate spending time outside and connect with new nature-loving friends.

Outings are always facilitated by people of color, with each month having a slightly different focus/theme. In July we will be focusing on native and invasive plants, and sampling some edible plants along our walk!

Registration is required to receive detailed directions to our meeting location - you can register at www.wildwhatcom.org/bipoc-walks

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
