Little known historic Polish Lager “Grodziskie” is a beer Chuckanut brewers fell in love with and decided to brew several years ago. It was a huge hit and has taken until now to have room in the tanks to make another batch. This very light, super effervescent low alcohol lager is sometimes called the champagne of Polish beer. The interesting part of this lager is the lightly smoky flavor due to oak-smoked malt in the recipe. The gentle and flavorful smoke accents adds depth to the light beer that makes a lasting impression. Moderate bitterness is evident and lingers throughout the dry finish to make this a very interesting brew.
Chuckanut Grodziskie is a great anytime beer with breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even at snack time! The ABV opens up the possibility of enjoying Grodziskie all day! Make sure to try this unusual lager when you see it on tap around the Northwest. It won’t last long and it may be a while before you see it again! Currently the Keller version is on tap at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen in Bellingham but the filtered, finished version will follow. Also available at South Nut in Skagit Valley and very limited accounts in the Seattle and Portland areas.
