BAAY's State Street Theatre Company presents CATS on August 23-25 and August 30-September 1 at the BAAY Theatre. CATS is an iconic Broadway musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year — the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life. Tickets and more info at baay.org.
BAAY’s State Street Theatre Company (SSTC) is a program dedicated to the artistry and talent of our local youth ages 15-18. SSTC integrates more challenging material and aims to prepare musical theatre students for collegiate-level work, as well as empower them to understand the significance of their artistic expression. SSTC’s CATS is directed by Kaleb Van Rijswijck, with musical direction by Dylan Cisneros and choreography by Lisa Markowitz.
