Father's Day Activities in Bellingham and Whatcom County

Sunday, June 18 is Father's Day, meaning its time to start planning a fun-filled day just for your dad or the dad-figure in your life! Here's a list of ideas in Bellingham and throughout surrounding Whatcom County:

Sunday, June 18

What's better than a ball game with dad?

The Bellingham Bells are having a home game at Joe Martin Field on June 18th. They'll be up against the Cascade Collegiate League.

Sunday, June 18

Bring the whole family down and start Father's Day off right with a paddle!

Starting at the Community Boating Center in Fairhaven at 4:30 p.m., this event will be loosely guided, so you can focus on some quality family time while safely under the supervision of our guides. Choose from sit-on-top kayaks, sea kayaks, paddle boards, and row boats. There will be a quick on-land intro for those who wish, but the entire 3 hours will be open for free exploration along the bay with a safety boat on the water.

Dads join for free, other participants pay $30 each.

Sunday, June 18

Billed as "Loud, scary fun for the whole family!" the MegaZapper show is a must for anyone local to or visiting Bellingham.

In this electrifying hour-long show, the SPARK museum unlocks electricity’s greatest secrets, recreating the greatest demonstrations in the history of electrical science—right before your eyes! Witness death-defying demonstrations including The MegaZapper, one of the largest lightning machines in the country, and the Cage of Doom, where visitors can interact with 4.6 million volts of electricity and take the selfie of a lifetime!

Sunday, June 18

Come see over 200 of the coolest classic and modified cars and trucks at Bellewood Farms & Distillery, located in Lynden, WA. While you're having fun cruising around the show with Dad, grab some tasty grub in Bellewood's cafe & bakery. Spectators are free, so bring the entire family.

Head to Penny Farthing Restaurant at Chuckanut Bay Distillery for a delicious Father's Day Buffet from 12-6pm. They'll whisk you away on a sensory journey, combining delectable culinary creations with hand-crafted spirits.

The dad-themed buffet will include a prime rib carving board, Tuscan baby back ribs, specialty 'Dad-inspired' craft cocktails, and so much more. This is sure to be an event that your dad, husband, or any father figure in your life won't want to miss!

Sunday, June 18

The drinks are cold, the cornhole is out, and the fires can be lit!

Celebrate Father's Day at Station 49 in Lynden, WA with live music by Ten Feet Thick! This event is free for all ages.

During inclement weather, events may be canceled. Please check Station 49's Facebook page or call us before coming if the weather is questionable.

Saturday, June 18 & Sunday, June 18

Celebrate Father's Day Weekend at the Pickford with a modern-day baseball classic: Field of Dreams!

Ray Kinsella is an Iowa farmer who hears a mysterious voice telling him to turn his cornfield into a baseball diamond. He does, but the voice's directions don't stop -- even after the spirits of deceased ballplayers turn up to play.

Year-round hiking is plentiful in and around Bellingham. Combining the trails in the Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, Chuckanut Mountains, North Cascades National Park, and Whatcom County, you and Dad have hundreds of miles of trails to explore.

Just remember to recreate responsibly!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
