Antique and Vintage Gift Ideas in Bellingham

These days, you can’t swing an elf without hitting a holiday gift guide, offering “perfect” gift ideas for everyone on Santa's nice list. They typically feature shiny new things—which makes sense, because most folks like to find shiny new things under the tree. But not everyone does! We all have friends and family members who appreciate the not-so-new: the antique, the vintage and the gently used. And where better to shop for them than at one of Bellingham’s many antique shops? Antiques, Bellingham, Penny Lane Antiques, Shops Peruse my list of gift getters below and see if you recognize anyone. Or, use it for inspiration to expand your gift giving routine beyond slippers, scarves and sweets. Then head out antiquing—it's a fun way to spend an hour or an entire day. And you're practically guaranteed to find something unique and awesome for a friend, your family or yourself, because antiques are for everyone. Squirrel   Maybe you'll run across one of my all-time favorite Christmas gifts: an old iron squirrel nutcracker from Penny Lane Antique Mall, which currently graces my fireplace.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
