A-maizing Fun: Whatcom County Corn Mazes

It’s fall and the harvest season is upon us! Along with crunchy leaves underfoot and jugs of fresh-pressed apple cider, the corn is as high as an elephant’s eye and just perfect for getting lost in a corn maze.

In Whatcom County we have three corn mazes to explore - one hosted by the Lynden FFA (Future Farmers of America), one at Bellewood Farms, and another at Stoney Ridge Farm in Everson.

Open Friday-Sunday in September

The FFA corn maze is located directly south of Front Street in Lynden on Hannegan Road. You won’t miss this maze thanks to the big green sign next to the road.

After you’ve parked, get ready to get lost and potentially muddy! This is a cornfield in the State of Washington - if it rains, it gets muddy.

Since 1999, this corn-maze has shown off the strong creativity of the local FFA group, rolling out a different design yearly! In the past, they have crafted everything from a lion to an owl, a windmill, a tractor, and even a wooden shoe.

How long will it take to get through the maze? Who knows - that's part of the fun! Average time shows from between half an hour to an hour. In between runs through the maze, take a snack break - the FFA offers popcorn and soda.

Get out and have fun this fall and at the same time all in support of local students. This maze is the main fundraiser for the Lynden High School FFA Booster Club.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
